Two internet connections

Looking for some guidance, i will be purchasing a computer for my daughters Xmas. I already have a computer in my sons loft room.

Do i call NTL to get the other computer a broadband connection.

Can they access the internet at the same time i.e different websites?
How much will it cost?
Will i have to pay another broadband monthly fee?

I am currently on a 2mb connection speed.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Two internet connections

Get a router, if the 2 pcs are close together a wired router will be suitable. If they are in seperate rooms then purchase a wireless router and a wireless card for one of the PCs.You do not need to pay NTL for 2 feeds as both PCs can run from the same BB feed and the 2 PCs will be able to access the internet independant of each other, download their own things, view different sites etc.

Re: Two internet connections

As Paul said, get yourself a router.
Linksys routers are quite popular and very easy to set up.
A wired router costs about £30 and wireless routers around £40-60

To give you an idea of how it works..... The Internet (NTL modem) plugs into the router, and then each computer connects to the router either via wired ethernet cable or if it is a wireless router, a wireless card.
