External Hard Disk Enclosure Question
Im thinking of buying this 4 port enclosure for some old drives i have laying around but i have 2 questions.
Will i be able to use this and have it seen as seperate drives?
Will i lose any of the data that is currently on the drives when i set the drives up in the enclosure?
Here is the link to the enclosure....

Based purely on the reviews on that link I'd say it will see them as separate drives. No reason why you should lose data I don't think.
However a few people mention that it runs hot despite its "icy" credentials and that it can be a bit finicky. it's a nice idea though if you have a load of bare drives kicking around.

Had you bothered to read the Product Overview.
Quote:
Each disk is then displayed as an individual drive

You should not lose any content from the drives.

Re: External Hard Disk Enclosure Question
If you have ordered it from Scan it will probably be 2 weeks, that what mine and few others delivery times have been due to the current situation.

I have one of those. You may have to fiddle with the settings, or you may not, can't remember!

I put in a WD Red 3TB, WD Green 2TB and an older Maxtor 320GB no fiddling and it found them all.

Re: External Hard Disk Enclosure Question
Best £100 i've spent on computer parts in ages.
No fiddling, just fit the drives, power on and then it works.

Where's the ambiguity?
Quote:
Supports Plug and Play - NO reboot or driver required on Windows Vista/7/8.x/10, Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.10; and Hot Swapping - Plug or unplug while your PC is running without slowdown or file corruption. NOT suitable for Linux.
