Re: UHD on Virgin Media

Not sure ^ I'd guess so with either a live shot of court or a Wimbledon logo across the screen until the next match is about to start

Eurosport will be showing both the men's and ladies finals in UHD on Virgin Media via the red button

Re: UHD on Virgin Media

This 4K HLG is interesting, at times I think it's not all that at first, but once you get watching you realise how unbelievably natural and lifelike it actually is.

I agree.

When i go back to HD, it’s like SD in Dynamic Mode.

The tennis looks a lot better than the World Cup UHD though.

And more 'top quality' UHD content later in the year. Interesting!

I thought this too! Is it a technical issue. Looks rubbish.

Re: UHD on Virgin Media

I would imagine it's a bit rate issue: Tennis is rather static in terms of pans unlike football and panning is where an inadequate bit rate is fully exposed.

Re: UHD on Virgin Media

So two UHD broadcasts now on bbc1.

Out of interest, what's the lag between BBC HD and UHD tennis compared to the football?

Re: UHD on Virgin Media

I have one of TVs that isn't on the official BBC list to get the world cup or tennis, for whatever reason I couldn't get it through the V6 or the native TV app.

This TV(Sony XD93) has an awesome picture for 4K/HDR and everything really, the processor for apps and streaming isn't so hot though. So I bought the Roku Streaming stick+ and can now see the world cup and tennis in 4KHLG it's awesome, great picture no buffering issues. I'd imagine this stick is better than most TVs at streaming so I'm not too bothered that I had to fork out £80 in order to see the world cup and tennis in 4kHLG.

Re: UHD on Virgin Media

I still find that the HD feed is better than the UHD feed.
