No no.... NOT THAT

How big is your music collection? How many GBs on your computer? How many records? cassettes? or else.......

None on my computer (I dont really like digital media - I prefer analogue )

I have over 100 records I would say......
I have 75 8 tracks or so........
and I have 43 cassettes..

Re: How big is yours?

Size of file is less important because someone using FLAC is going to take more space than same tracks in MP3.

We tossed loads of cassettes away over December, most were compilations from vinyl done decades ago and we've not used them as while I do have a player it's not been used. We kept some back to try to find digital versions. Dumped lots of VHS stuff too, again much is now on Netflix and we were moving to DVD for others.

Re: How big is yours?

I have about 30 odd 12" records, some are double albums mostly progressive rock from the '70's. I also have 130 odd CD's which are ripped to the PC as MP3 at either 384kbs or 256kbs and are provided over my home network by the media server on the PC. I haven't looked to see how much storage that needs as the PC has terabytes of HDD.

I tend to play them through the smart TV as it has a 100W subwoofer so the sound range is almost as good as my static Hi-Fi but is just more convenient. The TV shows the artist, album name, track name and number. This info I entered into the descriptors during the ripping process.

It was actually a very eclectic broad range of music Mr K as one has to have music that suits all tastes.

Between us my dad and I have 400+ CDs

I have ripped every CD I have to FLAC, but have some in MP3.

I have 7,766 tracks in total totalling 125GB

Every Queen & Kylie album.

Re: How big is yours?

I used to collect music and dvds, but then realised early on that it's pointless and just a waste of money. Things just move on too fast these days.

Re: How big is yours?

Around 130 LP's (albums) stored safely upstairs - most ripped to MP3 years ago when I still had a turntable

Roughly 80 CD's that generally only get played in the car (system isn't MP3 compatible)

A tad over 50 gig of MP3/FLAC files on the PC . . used to be a lot more but got rid of stuff I hardly listened to, for example I'd keep the 5 tracks I like off an album/CD with 9 tracks

Mainly Rock & Blues stuff . . I'm a guitar oriented freak

Aldo Nova to Warren Zevon

oh, somewhere in a cupboard I have a dozen or so cassettes left from the years spent recording great tracks from Alan Freeman & Tommy Vance radio rock shows . . . some rare session stuff on those that you'll never find on the internet

I have well over 1000 singles in my roof (loft), I used to collect the top 20 in the early 1980's.
