Re: Internet issues.
I would double check all your cable connections are all securely tight if your levels are moving around alot, levels moving around isn't a Hub3 issue.

Ye I checked it and everything is fit nicely. My upstream levels did move around as well with my SH1 if I recall. Now they have risen somewhat as well.

could it be an issue on Virgins end/cabinet?

Re: Internet issues.
My vivid 200 (wired) has been maxing out around 100Mbps for a week or so now.
And it occasionally drops out altogether. The helpdesk does resets, but say there is "a problem in the area" whilst the local area shows no faults.

Re: Internet issues.
Ditto this morning. It ran for a while then shut down. I got into the queue on 150 and listened to pop music for 15 minutes then noticed my Shub was doing a reset. Then all OK again. Levels all look good, nothing in the log.

Re: Internet issues.
My connection has been anywhere between 90mb - 350mb for around a Month.
I have no idea what Virgin is upto.

Re: Internet issues.
Hi, I was sent here via Sephiroth on the Virgin Media forums ( https://community.virginmedia.com/t5...3683479/page/3).
I have the 350mb business plan from Virgin with 5 static IPs and I am having very similar issues to the OP.
Here is my post from the Virgin forums, to save me from typing it all again:
Quote:
I was initially on the single static IP package, but the Hitron does not support modem mode with a single static IP (though the option is set to hidden in the Hitron GUI DOM, you can just unhide it and it will allow you get put the Hitron into modem only mode, but it doesn't go via the GRE tunnel, so you don't get your static IP).
Virgin told me to go with the 5 statics, as I wanted to use my own router hardware (MikroTik RB3011UiAS) for my server setup. Enabling the 5 statics seems to put the Hitron into a weird semi modem only mode, but I don't get double NATted, so I don't really mind.
Unfortunately, unlike Ignition's poor performance, my performance is actually good, but the connection will drop multiple times a day, and only power cycling the Hitron seems to bring it back online again. I have wasted many hours on support calls and had multiple engineer visits, the most recent engineer swapped my Hitron out for a new one, but nothing has fixed my issue.
I am not always at the premises, but as I run a web development agency, I have clients who need to access sites on my staging server. So I had to resort in asking the support live chat to remotely reboot my modem in order to get back online, though this was a time consuming process of answering the same security questions every time.
Therefore, I have had to resort in using a smart WIFI socket with the Hitron. I then wrote a script which runs on the server to detect if the WAN has dropped, if it has, it will power cycle the modem. It's a nasty hack, but it keeps me online most of the time. (It also allows my to track when and how often the connection drops, in the last twelve hours, it has gone down a total of four times).

Does anybody have any ideas on what is going on? If you need anymore information, such as upstream/downstream levels, please let me know.

Re: Internet issues.
I think you need to be in the thread New VM Business service - 350Mb. Sorry I can’t paste the URL.
Do also please post your power levels.

Ah, thanks!
I have copied it over and included (what I think are) my power levels.

There is a "local capacity fault" (F006551532) but no idea what is wrong or when it's going to be fixed.
Meanwhile another thing has been bugging me:
I switch off my PC up to a few times a day. Never a problem after reboot, the internet connection is always solid (if at half speed).
EXCEPT:
Switch on the PC after turning on the modem at the start of the day, or after the connection dropped out due to VM fiddling to fix the local fault, and Windows says there is no internet connection. I have to go into Network Connections, LAN Status, run a diagnostic which then allows me to Reset The LAN. Then it's all OK again.

Re: Internet issues.

It's right next to my bed, and I don't like sleeping in a Disco. Plus it saves power.

Re: Internet issues.
I thought there was an option to dim the lights or turn them off all together? If you keep turning it on and off you are just asking for trouble. If worse comes to worse you would be better of leaving it on and just putting some electrical tape over the leds.
When you run the network diagnostics thing all it is doing is renewing the ip address, flushing the dns cache and getting the new network info etc. If the shub was left on the pc would be able to get all that as it requests it when it boots up.

Re: Internet issues.
Yes just stick tape over the LEDs and leave it on Taf.
