Halloween subtitles?
Halloween (2018) is available from today on PPV, does anyone know if it has subtitles on the version available on VM?
Jim.

Re: Halloween subtitles?
yeehaw, I am going to exercise my moderating powers and move this to the right section on the site. This should be either in the film & cinema or the VM TV section (which I can't move to).
I felt bad so I have done a quick google for you. It says HD but provides no further info. If it is going to be a HD copy it stands to reason that it will also be 5.1 sound and English subtitles as minimum but I don't have Virgin TV so the only way to make a reasonable assumption is if either you or someone else who has used pay per view in the past can say whether subtitles are normally included as standard. Bear in mind that ppv movies are going to be the latest releases so there is no reason whatsoever why they wouldn't have subtitles (and they obviously definitely will).
I think this really wants to be in the VM TV Section as it is a more technical question about VM's tv service but I can't move it there. I'll pm an admin who can.

Re: Halloween subtitles?
Thanks for reply, I also did a Google before I posted and only really found lots of links to download the sub titles.
I do use ppv but not that often and have found some very recent films that I couldn’t get the sub titles to display.
Will probably just suck it and see.

Just double check that there isnt a weird menu you need to go in to somewhere to turn subtitles on and off. On my samsung tv there is a subtitles button on the remote to enable and disable but it doesnt work when i stream stuff from a nas. Instead i have got to press a tools button, go in to settings, subtitles and select an option.

Re: Halloween subtitles?
How pathetic. They are charging a premium price for a sub-premium service. This is the kind of thing which makes people move to Sky.

Re: Halloween subtitles?
Yep, watching it now, lots of muffled dialogue and no subtitles. Very poor indeed.

Annoying thing is I am an Amazon Prime subscriber, will look there first in future.

Re: Halloween subtitles?
Can’t understand how this film got 4* ratings, rather poor IMHO . Just a blatant slash fest with no real tension or suspense. 2* at best from me even without sub titles.

The original Halloween film is still the best IMO.

I think SFX (scifi mag) only gave it 2.5 or 3/5

Re: Halloween subtitles?
Slightly OT but I watched a small part of a doc on C4 last night that had sub titles. Just trying to watch the second half on C4 catch up and sub titles are not working?

I find that sort thing happens. Just rewind the programme a little bit and you might find that they come back.
