Re: Bump in speed
That looks like a 650Mb/40Mb connection, allowing for overheads.
What do you get on speed tests when connected by Ethernet?

Re: Bump in speed
Are you on the Oomph package, or standalone 500Mbps?

Re: Bump in speed
I am on Ultimate Oomph, actually checked the contracts and bill and is says M500.
Actually have a SamKnows modem and screenshot shows, one before and 2 after manual speedtests BUT that is with me logged into work, niece logged into school and streaming podcasts.

Re: Bump in speed
customers of Ultimate Oomph got a upgrade to M600 as and when it rolls out in your area when M500 became standalone it still reports as M500 for a lot of people who's been upgraded will probs change eventually

Re: Bump in speed
Spoke to Virgin's SMS chat thingy earlier, they confirmed everyone on 500M will be getting a free upgrade to 600M regardless of if they're on Oomph or not.
If that's correct or not is a completely different matter of course....

Good to know. I have added 600M as a prefix.

I wonder why VM have allowed so generously for overheads. Config is at 690Mb, downstream max.
The user will regularly get <650Mb. It would have been sufficient to have it set at 620Mb, for example.

Interesting yeah I thought M600 was exclusive for Oomph once 500 went mainstream.
Just had my upgrade to 600 last night (I’m on Oomph) getting 662 on Speedtest :-)

Re: Bump in speed
interestingly it appears my upload is consistently lower since the upgrade today - around 23 (has hit 40 highest)

I have been having the same problems since I took the 1gig package.
But in my case the upload speed reduces between 5:00 and 8:00pm, every single day.

Re: Bump in speed
We are on the standalone M500 here in Swansea and no speed increase yet.

Re: Bump in speed
Just had an email, with the following as part of the content
Your new package now includes:
Broadband: M600 Fibre Broadband - Intelligent WiFi Plus service - Intelligent WiFi Pod 1
We've removed:
Broadband: M500 Fibre Broadband
I have been invited on a trial for the "pods", but may be I should be getting a set anyway ?
