Probably but Johnson will always opt for the wrong person as he'll want a friend to do it.

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
Now it gets really interesting.
Case accepted the brief from Boris knowing that he himself (Case) was a guilty party.
I regard that as a resignation matter. But, if he (Case) resigns, the pressure on Boris to do likewise will be unremitting.
I love it. So does jfman!

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
To quote one Conservative MP.
"It's like the world's worst advent calendar. Every day we open the door and there's another crisis."

Case should never have taken on the um, case.
And as for Johnson, rules are for the little people and not him, thus not a resigning matter from his perspective.
Many may love it, I just find it embarrassing being the laughing stock of the world.
I'm receptive to other perspectives and was hoping from another contribution from Berkshire if Old Boy has time.

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
Which reporter is going to discover the identity of a Conservative who wasn't at a Christmas Party last year?
That would be "breaking news"…

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
Well if Boris has another party he could always dance away to his song which is charting on iTunes...
(a word of warning if you do check the charts though)

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
It’s hilarious. This is really a fairly annoying but minor issue that any competent government and/ or leader could and would have dealt with in short order and moved on.
But the staggering levels of incompetence on display here has meant that this thing just keeps trundling on, I think people are becoming less annoyed and more bored with it.
It’s just so disappointing that this is what we have as a governing collective, and a wider political group (all politicians).

Re: That No.10 Christmas Party
I don’t see what “all politicians” have to do with the Government lying, continuing to lie about lying and getting found out.
We get what we have because the system is corrupt. A big revolving door between politics, investment banks, the media, etc. Any time there’s an outlier the system will crucify them. It’s in everyone’s interests to focus the sheep on tittle tattle.

We've literally just had a by-election in the UK where it was a major factor in the result.

I haven’t spoken to everybody in North Shropshire so don’t know, my point was that the incompetence to deal with this , relatively, minor infraction has caused the issue more than the actual infraction itself.

It’s always the cover-up, never the crime - ask Nixon…

Neither has done a good cover up job.
