Finding a New Graphics card help.

Hi Everyone we are sort of new here but would like to ask a question

Dad and ourselves want to invest in a new graphics card for the home gaming PC we want a 3000 series Nvidia but cant seem to find any, everywhere seems to be out of stock.

I wont buy from ebay as some manufacturers wont honour the warranty if bought on there.

Can anyone help please?

A 3060 or above would be nice.

Re: Finding a New Graphics card help.

Stock of the 3000 series are extremely low, it's just a case of waiting for stock levels to go up or to keep checking the good sites like Scan.

All the suppliers are probably waiting for the same single container ship from China to arrive.

Re: Finding a New Graphics card help.

3090 cards are about, but they are pricey (~ £1400)

Scalpers are taking the legit 3080 and 3070 cards. The only way to get one in the UK is to buy a full pre-build from a major online retailer (Scan, Overclockers, eBuyer, et cetera), as any stock they get goes straight into those right now. 3080 cards are what people really want (bang for buck). That said, I believe the 3080Ti is due for release in the next few months

Re: Finding a New Graphics card help.

There's no way we wanna spend £1400 on a card, we were thinking a max of £600.

A 3080 can make between £5 and £10 a day Ethereum mining. That is why they are expensive and rare just like last time mining was a viable option

Bitcoin boom is a bubble, warns Bank of America Securities

UK investors pile in as digital currency rises by 42% in ten days

A leading investment bank has warned that bitcoin investors could be in “the mother of all bubbles” as the digital currency hit a new record high.

The warning comes as figures suggest that British investors have piled into bitcoin this year. Investors using sterling made bitcoin trades worth nearly £1 billion in the first seven days of the year, trading twice as many bitcoins as in all of January last year, aggregated data from digital currency exchanges shows.

Re: Finding a New Graphics card help.

Yeah Like any investment you take a risk. It only says could it does not say it will be. Plus with Mining if you have a card (or a few) you could always sell them and not lose to much if you jump at the right time

I remember when it all started. I bet like myself there are a lot regrets not jumping in when you could mine fragments a lot easier and quicker

Re: Finding a New Graphics card help.

There's a difference between buying a digital currency as an investment, and mining it, which is in effect "printing" money.

If you're looking as a simple single PC setup possibly generating over £3,000, that not too bad an "investment". You can still use the PC anyway, whatever happens.
Been thinking of setting up a new PC to replace my current one built in 2013.
Looks like I'm going to have to buy a pre-built one, rather than build one from components I select myself.

You should still be able to get one custom specced easy enough. I would like to play with an all new AMD system just to see in person how the Smart Memory Access feature works but I have a 9900K so just can not justify the fortune it would cost me
