Windows Media Player/Centre not found in Vista Home Basic

Sis-in-law tells me she hasn't got Windows Media Player/Centre on her computer it does not show up in 'all programmes', OS is Vista Home Basic.

So today she tried to download WMP 11 but was told that a more updated version was already on her lappy, but where is it, she's done a search?

Media Player should be there, but Vista Home Basic doesn't have Media Centre

I would just search the computer for wmplayer.exe. It could be just not in the Start Menu

Or you could download VLC player onto it?

download media player classic or better yet vlc player for video. Winamp is much better for audio library. I never use wmp
