WOW . . must be nice to have a hotline to the top.

How many 'no win no fee' lawyers did that take?

I point blank refused to deal with that dreadful offshore call centre ever again & threatened to close the remainder of my accounts if I didn't get a special number to ring (as I had up until just a few years ago). Being severely disabled is difficult enough without their nonsense.

Nothing to stop you doing the same. Whilst this was intertwined with legalities over something else, you shouldn't need a solicitor for this

It wasn't done via no win, no fee btw, it was done through a firm of solicitors that we use for legal matters.

Oh I think there's a lot stopping me doing the same, in fact I'm starting to think I could be discriminated against.

Do those solicitors work for free?

Discriminated against on what grounds? This may be illegal.

Free? Yes & no. Our company pays for their services, but as part of the package, the directors obtain legal services at no cost to themselves.

If you don't receive legal services at no cost to yourself, this should be easy enough to deal with without the need for paid legal professionals.

Re: Just had an offer via phone.

As previously stated, "free legal services" are a benefit-in-kind, and would attract a tax liability (unless it’s a very small amount, and as we all know, lawyers ≠ small bills).

The statutory exemption for trivial benefits allows a company to provide benefits costing not more than £50 tax-free and without any need to tell the taxman. For directors of close companies, tax-free trivial benefits are capped at £300 a year.

The costs incurred for engaging professional services—such as hiring an accountant, lawyer or architect—can be claimed as an allowable expense, as long as these services are carried out solely for business purposes

Re: Just had an offer via phone.

Buy a BT call blocking phone, I did and it was best £40 I've ever spent. filter all my landline calls through it.
