List of "Anti Spyware" tools to be avoided

Obviously, if you're in the market for an anti-spyware tool, you don't need to look further than Stuarts thread, however...

Notice how there a lot of imitators there? Trying to confuse people. There's even a Spyware Blaster, which they state is not to be confused with javacool's SpywareBlaster.

Exactly, I was aware that there were a lot of copy-cat bits of software out there and some down right useless ones, but when I stumbled on this page I hadn't appreciated the true extent.

If you're in any doubt as to whether you've got a suspect anti spyware program installed on your system, then there's a little (freebie) program you can run that will identify it and (in some cases) remove it from your system. The program is called Rouge Remover and it's available at:

The problem is that there are quite a few "anti spyware" programs on the net that claim to do the business by identifying and getting rid of malware. Unfortunately these companies use "false positives" to trick the user into buying their products which (in the long run) turn out to be as much use as a chocolate teapot.
In addition, the program will (also) identify a lot of other (potentially) useless (system hogging) stuff as well. give it a go, you've nowt to lose!

Seeing a lot of these Fake Self Installing AV's popping up
Names are simple
Av.exe
VistaAV.exe
AVvista.exe
Win7av.exe
7av.exe
XPAV.exe
avxp.exe
Anything Along the lines of AV and your OS in the name = Naughty and will start blocking programs (Browsers, Messenger etc.)
I may also point out. The easiest way to get these are from Pornographic sites.. So if one pops up and you tell us.. My eye is on you!

The thing its just avoid installing anything from a pop up window unless you trust the site you are on and only then if its perhaps a flash update or something you recognise.
You should all have security and trust what you have so why ever click yes to these pop ups

I got one yesterday on google images ,and before anyones eyes are on me i was searching film stars for the competion 
good news is that vm anti virus blocked it
