eBay has got ridiculous now
I dont know about you but I'm getting more and more fed up with eBay, specifically for sellers.
I'm not a big seller but do like to list a few things every now and again.
With other services like Facebook Marketplace that are free you would think eBay would try and reduce their fees to claw back customers but no.
Sure you get a little more buyer protection through eBay but for sellers it really inst that great.
An example is an item I sold for £30. By the time fees came out it was now down to £25
And whoever made the decision to move to eBay's own payment system needs their heads bashing.....Yes it eliminates Paypals fees but getting my payments sent into my bank account is thge last thing I want so it is all mixed in with other transactions. I used to be able to have a seperate account for all eBay things in Paypal.
And they think they've made things better.....It now takes 3-4 days for the money to enter your account. Talk about a step backwards!
Anyone else had enough with eBay?

Re: eBay has got ridiculous now
After being hammered for VAT and other "charges" on ebay and Amazon items, I now have to verify not only that the item will be posted from the UK, but that the seller is UK based.

Re: eBay has got ridiculous now
It's progress though.
Surely you must have noticed over the last 10 years or so that 'progress' has ultimately led to a downgrade in the product/service offered?
I (the resident Luddite) miss the old second hand shops, where you could sell & buy almost anything with a bit of haggling

Re: eBay has got ridiculous now
So you can only use eBay's own service for payment now? They used to have 3 or 4 ways didn't they?

A buyer still has the option to pay via different means, eg. paypal, card, etc) but for the seller you must now accept Ebay's own payment system.
Normally if I was paid by someone using paypal, the funds would appear in my paypal account and then I could transfer that to my bank acccount instantly.
I also liked to see how much I had made in my paypal account instead of now having it appear randomly after 3-4 days in my bank accounts transactions list.
These days there is no reason for payments to take so long to enter your account. Its ridiculous.

Certainly seems that way. Let's upgrade you by taking things away, effectively downgrading you. They'll probably add features back again later and charge you more for this "privalidge".

Re: eBay has got ridiculous now
I stopped selling on Ebay lack of trust in the buyers lying and it is all to time consuming if they have to return or lie and say it does not work you end up losing out totally. Had not noticed you having to use Ebays payment system for selling that seems like an extra pain in the scrotum
I have sold stuff on Facebook and generally got what I would minus a couple of quid fees if I had sold on Ebay and sold as seen it leaves me in good condition if I post it has insurance if you pick it up I show you it working end of transaction.
Made some good money last Prime day selling some Amazon stuff I got really cheap for profit on Facebook

I tell most people that if the thing you are selling is worth less than £10 it's not worth the hastle.
