Losing channels on TIVO

Twice, in the last week, I have lost all channels on my TIVO box (not a V6).

This happens, when I use Channel Up, to browse through the sports channels (Sky, Euro, BT).

When I arrive at BT Sport UHD, a message appears "channel requires a subscription", which is correct, as I do not have a 4K/UHD TV.

After this, every channel displays "channel not available - please try later V53".

I called VM, but they were unable to find/fix the fault - they didn't know what code V53 is!!!

The solution, is to reboot - sometimes more than once.

Anyone else having this problem, or able to confirm that it is/isn't connected to BT Sport UHD?

BTW - since starting this note, BT Sport UHD has been removed from the EPG...

Re: Losing channels on TIVO

I had the problem on the V6 last week and a reboot got the channel back.

Re: Losing channels on TIVO

That is a known fault. The older TiVos shouldn't be able to tune to BT Sport UHD because thay can't decode UHD, but sometimes they do anyway. It should be fixed by the next software update, but in the mean time, try to avoid tuning to that channel.

As you've discovered, rebooting clears the error, but make sure you aren't still tuned to BT Sport UHD before you reboot.

SnoopZ: you must have had a different fault. This one doesn't happen on the V6, as it can decode UHD channels. The same error code V53 can happen for various reasons.

Re: Losing channels on TIVO

We managed to go to the UHD channel (555?).

It killed the box, a reset was the only way to get it back.

We get the channel not available - please try later V53", but retyping the channel no sometimes brings it back
