Just finished 5 miles at 39 minutes 56 - I won't know my position for a few days yet but I'm really impressed that I managed a sub-40 in my first competitive race

Cheers guys - no idea how I managed it and it was disheartening at one point when I was halfway around a 3 mile lake to see some of the younger runners coming out of it the other end! But I noticed that only 4 or 5 people overtook me so I'm quietly confident my position won't be too embarrassing

Results are in: 139th out of 166 and my time was actually 39.45. Not so bad overall.
