iPlayer on Virgin Media now mandatory sign in
Went to watch iPlayer on the V6, and instead of the optional Sign In, it is now mandatory. I knew it was coming, of course, but I was a little surprised it changed in the middle of the week.
Anyway...why doesn't the Guest option mentioned in the Help pages show up?
I've logged in with my account, but I had planned on using the Guest function as my taste isn't the same as others in the house. Or do you need to have two BBC accounts logged in before Guest shows? I can't see anything to explain why it's not there on the iPlayer help pages.

You only need one person logged in. If it defaults to your profile you should just need to select the profile icon and 'switch user':

I just added another account and there's still no Guest to choose from. Just says Person 1, Person 2, Add User and remove.

It looks like it's a BBC thing. The Guest option has disappeared from my Samsung TV version of iPlayer too.
Remember though that anyone with a BBC account can add themselves to the app in order to swap profiles, so you can still separate viewing history out between members of your home.

Thanks. I might have to make a separate account for the TV, group watching habits are very different than individuals, which tend to be viewed on portable devices.

And you don't want anyone to know what you've been watching
