the shub being offline (i.e. no internet connection) or if you are online you received a new and different ip address when the shub requested a renewal. If you remember when you set your bqm up you have to register your ip address for their system to ping. If there isn't a router on the other end of that address anymore there isn't anything to respond to the pings and hence the red.
