Who's going to win then?
I've a £1 on the Irish National winner - sweepstake at work. Also put £4 each way on it.

Re: The Grand National
Im undecided who to put my money on,
"Dirty Carpet" has never been beaten although "Creosote" is good over fences!

I have traumatic memories of sport at school, so it's all blocked out

They're all here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/othe...ng/4849444.stm
Mine is "NUMBERSIXVALVERDE", which I can't even pronounce but it's tipped 1st or 2nd.

Re: The Grand National
Guess which horse won?
£4 at 12/1 and £4 at 1/4 odds (which I think is 3/1), plus the sweepstake. I can't get over it - I never win anything.

Re: The Grand National
I was a bit fed up at first - would have been better betting on a tin of corned beef. Right at the back - commentators not even mentioning it. My mum asked it was still running Then gradually the commentators started mentioning it more and I thought, "Hang on a mo - it's making a bit of an effort". Then it's in 3rd place and I'm thinking, "Cooo - few quid if it finishes. Better than nothing. Liable to break a leg at the last fence knowing my luck, though". Then it's neck and neck with hedgehunter and it jumps the last fence much better. And it just goes - couple of horse lengths ahead! The old corned beef is going to win. Was on the edge of the sofa. All terribly sad and working class
