Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire

Thanks guys for the responses. My last question is will 1GB a month really be enough? T-Mobile offer 3GB. This phone always needs to be online except when at home using my wireless connection.

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire

1GB is plenty, after a couple of month with the Desire on Virgin I usually use about 600MB a month.

'If' I was to go over the 1GB what's the charge? I know you can get apps to easily turn off 3G and just use WiFi when available.

They have a 30p per day for web access which have a limit of 25mb per day. However you aren't likely to go over the 1gb per month.

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire

I've put my name down for one on Monday but they aren't in stock at the moment and should be in today. I am supposed to be phoned when they come in but I was the 9th person waiting. Any ideas when Virgin get new stock?

The Desire has the ability to turn off the Mobile connection built in (while leaving the Voice services untouched) - you don't need a 3rd party app

If they've run out of the handsets they got in this week then it's going to be a while unfortunately

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire

It seems you can now download the Voice search app from the Android Market.

It's still missing Speech to Text though

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire

The HTC Desire is full of bugs. HTV and Virgin know about them but aren't making it public.

Virgin customer service has gone from being the best ever to the worst, they repeatedly get my bundles wrong, the website barely works, they never reply to emails sent from the website.

If I wasn't in so deep now, I'd change to a different, more honest service provider

Odd that as the are many people I work with own either a HD2 or a Desire and none of them are experiencing any issues.

You will have an issue with some of the American firmware upgrades available if you download the wrong one but that is easily rectified, read the reviews first.
