You occasionally get sports live on Scottish/Welsh/Irish channels which are not available in other areas via Virgin.
These can be viewed via Sky - good enough reason to want it IMO.

I get the impression the BBC are better with regional sport than Channel 3 licensees these days. Nothing I see listed on STV sports-wise looks like it wouldn't be on in other Ch3 regions, whereas I know Wales/Scotland/N.Ireland (not so sure about English regions) do get a fair bit of regional sport (e.g. rugby and golf recently off top of my head). The BBC stuff is on iPlayer usually, which helps as you only tend to find out about them, if they are not your region, afterwards.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
I assume by saying they were offered that your source MB has confirmed they aren't coming? That there isn't a delay between doing the deal and executing it, e.g. it took a few months for Sky reorganisation to happen after the deal being agreed.
If so, I can understand why VM deprioritised the +1s, the on-demand content they're getting in the deal should be the same as the that, and doesn't clutter up the EPG.

Thanks for reminding me of the inbetween dates, I only meant the reshuffle on Oct 1st when I was typing that. I'd forgotten the others.

Do you know whether Virgin accepted or rejected the chance to get the extra channels, MB? Or was it simply 'offered' to Virgin.

Seems strange why they wouldn't take Nick Jr HD if they are stripping back their SD channels. Unless price was a factor of course

At time of post we only know what Viacom offered.
If no +1 channels appeared by November 10th they are unlikely to appear..
We think is safe to say Nick Jr. HD will launch soon.
We mean it took over FOUR Weeks for E! HD to launch after the new Sky deal was confirm in July.
We have no idea on when the Discovery deal was signed.
