I think Sky Sports costs more on VM anyway

As far as I know Sky Movies and Sky Sports SD Channels is an 'must carry' on Virgin Media.

But we may lose Sky Movies HD, Sky Sports 1 HD and Sky Sports 2 HD if the new deal is not sign.

Sky Sports News is part of the Sky Basic deal (Sky1, Sky Living and Sky Arts.)

I cant see VM loosing the Sky Prem HD channels after all the hassle and time it took to them get them.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

hmm. The only benefit to Virgin for us really is the fact that you have 3 tuners rather than just 2.

The reason we left sky was because they wanted £250 for a new hd box when old one broke but offered them for free to new and upgrading customers.

We had the bonus of ESPN for free which we didn't bother with before.

With ESPN going, and if Sky Sports increases, really it'd be better to go back to sky, as then we'd get SS3+4 plus F1 in HD, plus Atlantic (others in house like Mad Men for eg.)

It all IF and BUT right now.

The DM is just someone view.

Let wait until Virgin Media, Sky or BT confirm anything.

As of April 9th.

-Rumours say that Sky HD channels deal is up in Summer 2013.
-No deal has been signs with Virgin Media and BT for BT Sports PACKAGE of channels.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

In my opinion there is no chance that BT Sports will be part of the XL package a la ESPN; it's going to be a extra payment per month - around £12-£15?

If its that price there won't be many takers given that also Sky Sports will raise their prices again later this year by a fair bit.

In my opinion BT have spent so much money acquiring the sports for their channels that they will have to charge something to get it back...

yes and people said competition is good it not for us customers as prices only ever go up and up and sky will bid even more next time to make sure bt don't win no more so no end to price rises at all

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Yes competition is supposed to be good but in this game it doesn't seem to work.

As Dave says, BT bid very high, caused Sky to bid very high which will mean high prices for the customer.

The only winner is the Premier League and the football clubs who straight away brought in new "fair play" rules to prevent players getting the money in wages.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

The simple answer is don't pay it , I agree with you all premium subs are getting way to expensive however their currently just at a level I'm ok with that said it wont take much more before I say enough is enough and cancel the premiums its the only way the likes of BT and Sky will finally get the hint.

Never a truer word(s) spoken. It will eventually happen, and that will shock the football league
