Re: usa newspaper websites

To be fair, it's down the websites, not the EU.

The GDPR changes have been coming for years, as has how to comply. Most websites that don't now comply have taken an active decision not to do so.

Could not get chicago tribune which is the one i read the most.i did notice that you could get some news web sites and yet not others. Why can you get some and not others?,I would have thought it would be all news websites or no websites. Is this an individual papers choice or what?.

If it helps you i can access it using Opera Browser: Fast and Secure on my Android phone without changing any settings on Virgin Media, maybe there is a desktop browser that does something similar?

Apparently, 2 years wasn’t enough to prepare for GDPR (unlike all the US sites that did).

unbrako is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: usa newspaper websites

What's was the specific issue as to why they are non-GDPR compliant. I thought GDPR was about personal data?

ip addresses, cookies on your PC, etc., are personal identifiers - most US sites give you the options to select whick cookies you want to allow, the others haven’t set up this capability.
