I find it pretty surprising - i'd have thought a lot of those people would have large HD TVs - and they must be watching in SD - just horrible to view IMO.

Depends what you mean by large? SD pictures are fine on my 40 inch TV. Maybe you need a better TV?

TV XL customer?
If you’re a TV XL customer and have ESPN as part of your package there won't be a change to pricing when we stop showing these channels.
Thats from Virgin Media.Com

Ok so some news from BT Sport. I have posted to them on Facebook about coming for Virgin Media and about the sport app and not good news. Will post screens in a min

That really means nothing. No one would tell you before an official announcement.
It doesn't mean that it is coming to VM, but equally, it doesn't mean it that it isn't.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Thankfully I was at the St Johnstone vs Rosenborg game last night and didn't rely on either the BT Sport or the Sky Sports Twitter feeds as neither saw fit to bother reporting that the most successful Norwegian team in the last 20 odd years were knocked out of the Europa league qualifiers by a little know club from Scotland.
Fair enough my team, St Johnstone, are insignificant but Rosenborg certainly are not but I guess it shows the (lack of) interest they have in both Scottish football and the Europa league and why I have probably made the right decision by not subscribing to either. Bet Swansea get a mention next week.

Indeed....although I will confess that my post was the best way I could think of gloating about the result while at the same time keeping my post vaguely on topic so it should treated as a very much a tongue in cheek post :-)
However I still think it's worth pointing out that while miracles were being performed in Perth, Sky Sports thought it was more important to keep everyone informed of Chelsea's results in Indonesia. Clearly big news that one of the biggest clubs in England are much better than a team made of of people from a country that doesn't really have a history of playing football at a very high level...probably still beat Hibs though.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
A relative of mine had to call VM today as his service was a bit wonky and asked about BT Sport, as he is an avid football fan like me who supports Arsenal (arghhhh), and he was told that we are NOT getting BT Sports as talks have broken down.
Could be a wind up, but he was certain about it and is getting Sky. I support Spurs, and l had to say that dreaded word.

No 4,786,000 Sky+ HD boxes - you quoted the "connected HD boxes" figure - i.e. just over half are connected to the internet.

Great result for sure! Rosenborg are a known name in Europe who have caused problems for many teams in the Champions League previously. The great work done by your team to raise the profile of Scottish football was sensationally undone by Hibs
