I thought exactly the same thing. I love the nostalgia factor as well where they are respecting the originals and i can already see a couple of jokes where you think something is going to happen to copy the originals and it doesnt. I cant wait and this is one of a handful of series i have ever seen where it is that good i wish the eps were twice as long.
Good news and bad news depending which way you want to look at it. Season 3 is filmed and good to go but Youtube are moving away from the original content and are trying to handoff their series so season 3 won't be shown on youtube and they are shopping around for another network. Apparntly negotiations are in the final stages so hopefully we'll get season 3 in the usual July time slot and we just need to hope it gets renewed for a forth (and more) season. I am confident

If it has an established following and a third season ready to premiere I’d be unsurprised to see Netflix take it on. They’ve taken over and extended shows by a season or two in the past, so it fits an MO they’re happy with.
yeah, it is needs a global distributor like Netflix to continue in youtube's footsteps because Karate Kid is popular and known throughout the world. It would be silly to take a step backwards and restrict it to primarily US networks.
Another superb season. I did a lot of moaning about The Mandalorian before Christmas with regards to the quality and depth of the story and characters and Cobra Kai is the shining example of how it should be done. It is amazing that after all this time they have been able to get the original cast back and it all adds to the realism factor in making the universe believable.
