Im wondering if anyone here could offer some advice please.

Im moving some extension cables which now need to be reattached to the wall via screws, such as a 4 bar and a 6 bar plug extension.

The problem is i need to mark out on the new surface the distance between screw holes as these are on the back of the 4 and 6 bar and i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way of doing this or phaps a youtube video i could watch please.

Usually my son does all this work but hes away for 2 weeks and i wanna get this work in the house all sorted before he comes back.

Surely you just measure the distance of the holes on the back of the extension and then mark the same distance where it is going to go on the wall?

Could you trace the shape of the extension and mark where the screws will need to be.

Cut out the template and you can then position it where you want it to sit and mark the wall where the screws need to be located.

You can do it exactly the same way as this. Just a pencil and paper.

Do a "brass rubbing" of the back of the extension leads to show the edges and the mounting holes. Place it where you want to mount it and drill where the rubbing indicates the hole positions.

For mounting an extension block to a solid surface I offer the item to wall then using a small drill bit in my electric drill mark off the fixings.
If a brick surface I use a smaller masonry bit than for actual hole size.

Mark on the block from the centre on the hole to the edge then round the side. Now put block on the wall and mark on wall where the marks on the block are. In most cases you are not going to need to be mm perfect.

The extension blocks I have you can remove the faceplate (several screws) to allow easy wall mounting through the back panel.
