Re: Is This a Bogus email from VM
No reputable company asks for information like that in an email. Email is not secure, they could get themselves into all sorts of problems by asking for that info.
If your Bank/Building Society/ISP or any other reputable company you deal with needs that information, they should advise you to contact them.
They should also be happy for you to confirm it at your local branch (assuming they have any), and should have a way you can contact them (phone, website etc).
If you are given a link to the website in an email, ignore it. Go to their main site. The options you need *should* be accessible from there.

Re: Is This a Bogus email from VM
my friend had a call the other day from someone claiming to be from Virgin media. Rang him up, knew his name, address etc and said that he wanted to upgrade his billing details for his Virgin Media account. Thing is he doesnt hold one hes on Sky and the bloke hang up so it was obviously a bogus call but imagine how many people get caught.

Although to be fair the people phoning in should have realised something was up when their calls were getting answered and the person on the other end was polite and helpful.
