Netflix not connecting
I'm having to reboot both my V6 boxes to enable them to reconnect to Netflix.
I am using Virgin DNS.
I have my router set in modem mode and use Google WiFi mesh system. I have no issue with either the built in app on my Bravia TV or PS3.
Is anyone else having similar issues??
Cheers

Re: Netflix not connecting
What error do you get when it doesn't work? Do other apps work OK?

Re: Netflix not connecting
Can't remember the code off the top of my head. I'll post it next time it does it.
Other Apps work fine.

Re: Netflix not connecting
From memory - the V6 must have a clear path to the Virgin DNS to actually be enabled.
If any of the devices like the Google devices are changing the V6 path it may cause an issue.
To prove the V6 has (or has not) got a fault - could you do a temporary switch of your SH to be a router - and try the V6 then?

Re: Netflix not connecting
Thanks for your help. But that's a lot of effort compared to either the odd reboot.or using PS3.
I guess I'll just live with it.

Re: Netflix not connecting
You'd get error V312 if the DNS lookup fails, so it's not that.
NW-2-5 is one of Netflix's own errors, indicating a server connectivity issue, but it's not very specific unfortunately.

I do think it's likely to be related to your home network setup, but it's going to be trial-and-error to try to fix it.

Re: Netflix not connecting
Thank you. My Bravia TV works pretty flawlessly and the PS3 upstairs does too. I guess I have to learn to live with it.

Re: Netflix not connecting
I have been having the same problem on two occasions recently, only affects Tivo box. I have not done any changes to my home network, so makes me think that Tivo is at fault. I have to reset the box at least once a week for this and lip sync problems, Tivo is OK but not great.
Edit. Exactly what have Virgin DNS servers to do with it? Surely any DNS server is OK, works from TV app and tablet with OpenDNS server as my preferred server.

There is a private host entry in the VM servers that the V6 Netflix app requires.

I use opendns servers on my router and had no problems until recently, but rebooting Tivo clears the problem. Does the V6 Netfix app have the Virgin DNS encoded to bypass router DNS settings?

No, it doesn't. But it caches the results which means it can continue to work if it has used the VM DNS once.
