Well we shall see how it plays out as one suspects at the end of it all the customer will be paying more.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
So the money Sky we’re going to pay(bid) for La Liga rights will now be being paid to Eleven so Sky can broadcast La Liga.
I would love to see the figures. I wouldn’t mind betting that Sky will be paying Eleven less than they bid for the La Liga rights. Could have been a cunning plan all along.

Sky could easily include it in with Sky Sports Mix in its basic packs thus passing the cost across it's entire user base rather than just Sky Sports customers.
Nobody will pay anymore on top of Sky Sports so whatever happens it will be included in my opinion.

Well that's what muppetman's article from the Mail says. Sky Sports subscribers will not pay more to watch La Liga games.

They don't really have much choice, though, Den, if Sky put their prices up.

All Virgin's price increases aren't direct pressure from Sky increasing its prices. If so how come broadband only customers see regular rises.

I agree, but if Sky put their prices up to carry their channels, Virgin are going to pass that on.
There are different cost pressures relating to broadband - I didn't say the two were connected.

So, with Sky, BT and presumably Virgin all putting their prices up, how does competition exempt you from the effects of price rises?
Unless you are considering moving to Talk Talk, that is .
