Faster upload considering 35mb upload is not available on the lower tiers.

I suppose, but I work from home a bit and the 12mb upload on 200mb seems just as good as in the office. And I do shift a bit large datasets about. You can't go faster than the office speed !

It doesn't mean it's not applicable for others.

Download a little faster.
However, its the 35 upload I want it for, id just as happily take 350/35, the 500 DL is just a bonus.

If you only have 12Mb upload in the office, you have a crappy network...

Re: Virgin confirm 500/35 tier
Plus there is the new ruling that ISP's must provide accurate speed forecasts at point of sale, and in some areas I understand they are dire, so VM might push everyone up a notch to make the actual speeds more attractive?

Worked for me...
The hardest part was working out which side of the keyboard the problem was on - usually PEBKAC...

No, there is a voluntary code of practice agreed with OFCOM by some ISP's that if the speed promised cannot be supplied within a month then you can leave without penalty.
In truth its even more complicated than that if you go into it.

The actual speed of your service may vary, but for new customers and existing customers who change their broadband services on or after 28th February 2019, we now provide a minimum download speed guarantee.

Its a farce and totally meaningless just as "upto" then "average" speeds etc. It just makes OFCOM look as if it is doing something.

The codes will apply to broadband purchases from 1 March 2019 (services bought before this date will still be subject to the existing codes detailed below)

This so called OFCOM change is nothing more than a farce.
Let's face it it's not that many years ago VM were renowned for congestion and it taking months to resolve (if noy years), you'd have been screwed then with this agreement.
Care to point a finger?
