That's silly! The price for the WUSB54GS on its own is £35! Tempted to by the package and ebay the unnecessary WRT54GS!!

That really is very good - I got those two for £50 from PC World a good few months back. God do they take a hammering!
The WRT54GS is a really top class router if you put DD-WRT on it.

Re: Linksys WRT54GSUK and WUB54GSUK £39.99
Anyone tried using the WUSB54GS as an adapter for an XBox360? At that price its cheaper than the MS adapter even if I don't get any money for the router (already have a Linksys WRT54G).

I'll try on my son's 360 tonight to see if it works. If it does Happy Day's, if not no loss.

Any luck with the trial - it would be interesting to know if this works rather than spending £50+ on the official MS adapter.

Haven't had a chance to try yet as been doing too much DIY. I'll try tonight and let you know.

According to KNEONKNIGHT in this thread you can use it but it's a pain to setup.

Tried this last night but no luck. The 360 just did not want to recognise the wireless.

You have to set it up via a computer first, which i don't know how to.

Right was going to go to PC World to get this today , so does this mean by getting the package I'm getting the bit , plus more for less money ????
And what does the extra bit do ?

Not quite - I've got one of these:- http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...VisitorWrapper
This is a gaming adapter and uses an ethernet connection. I think WUSB54GS can be used for PC network games, not for console gaming.

You might be able to use it but have to set it up via a PC first. Unless you're sure if it will work or not i wouldn't take the risk, i'd get the official adaptor.
That router is perfect though as i have one.

I'll admit I haven't really follow the DD-WRT stuff for a while (since I last flashed my router to v23 last year and not had to go near it since then ) but don't the current versions of the WRT54GS use different much more restricted hardware making them unsuitable these days?
