Edit: Found this:

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world...an-south-korea

If it can keeping coming back (because the body isn't making us immune as expected) after we've had it once and we hadn't yet developed a vaccine, we are in real trouble.
It’s extremely important to read these reports carefully and to try to see through the tabloid sensationalism.

The only quote from an actual expert in that entire article says this:

Quote:
Philip Tierno Jr., a professor of microbiology and pathology at New York University, said: “Once you have the infection, it could remain dormant with minimal symptoms”

“And then you can get an exacerbation if it finds its way into the lungs”.
Which is *not* evidence of reinfection, or “catching the virus twice”. It is, rather, evidence of a more complex pattern of disease progression, in a few possibly especially weak individuals.

It is so important not to give equal weight to different reports just because they’re in print. The BBC and others giving equal weight to Andrew Wakefield’s MMR quackery despite the scientific consensus being heavily against him is, in no small measure, what has caused a perilous drop in vaccination rates that has consequences to this day.

Re: Coronavirus

Thank God for that. They really shouldn't be sensationalising things, this is too serious a situation.

It seems to be that, because it's so new, nobody knows for sure if it can come back, but i'm glad it hasn't thus far.

Re: Coronavirus

Eastenders to be rationed. I wonder how many will get withdrawal symptoms.

Never watch soaps anyway.

Re: Coronavirus

Ocado has closed its website to all orders *until Saturday* as it struggles to cope with huge spike in orders. It shut down its app earlier. Existing orders will be delivered and there’s a cap on handgel, cleaning products and loo roll to one or two per order.

On TV now: Schools to close on Friday until further notice.

Funny you should mention that.

My wife went to Morrisons this morning (as usual), it was packed.
I went to the pub this afternoon to get my dinner, it was almost empty.

So remind me again who was at the higher risk ?

Re: Coronavirus

Schools to close but not for kids with parents that are 'key workers'. Who are classed as key workers. Supermarket staff? They are right in the thick of it and should be classed as key workers.

Indeed supermarket staff are very important in these times and should be classed as key workers as you can't feed the nation otherwise..

Re: Coronavirus

My local was pretty sparse but in mid afternoon that's not unusual. Easy to be 2m+ from the nearest person. Went to Sainsbury's afterwards and the place had been stripped. Even the wine aisle was damaged.

Good thing I keep well stocked cupboards and freezers. Probably got a dozen different types of pasta and noodles, I like to have a choice. Only real pain is lack of fresh veg: I wanted an Iceberg lettuce but made do with a couple of little gem. Very similar. No whole mushrooms but got a punnet of ready sliced. Mainly get cooked down with noodles and other flavourings.

Frozen veg is just as good heero if you can get it.
