Does a forward path attenuator reduce return path

It's not supposed to but does have a tiny effect in practice.

Less than 1dB. Usually closer to 0.1

It depends really, as it should reduce it by enough to notice it but if it is a faulty attenuator then it could do.
I saw plenty of them when I was doing installs.
Are you having a problem or are you just wondering?

Just to correct slightly what I posted as I have just noticed a slight mistake with it.
