Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Yeah. It doesn't milk the franchise. If anything, it's saved the franchise. Trek was going nowhere. The last TV series is best forgotten, and the previous film was truly dreadful. The new film is IMO the best Trek film since First Contact, and it breathed much needed new life into the franchise.

In fairness, we are all entitled to our own opinions. The world would be rather boring if we weren't.
The last movie I saw? Johnny English Reborn.
Good points: Gillian Anderson. She looks good, and I think would make a good M should Judy Dench want to leave the role. There are some good set pieces in the film, and a few neatly observed jokes (such as the sponsorship of MI7).
Bad points: Too many jokes fall flat or are not funny. Also, where as the original was written by the current authors of the James Bond movies, and was a quite neatly observed mickey take of the cliches of the Bond movies, this smacks of someone who isn't that witty trying to copy what the first movie did.
4/10

Dances with wolves - Kevin Costner 9/10
Would possible have given a ten but the actress who played his wife (don't know her name) couldn't fake not being able to 'the white talk'.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn 3d - 9/10
missus and I both really enjoyed it, action packed, funny, and the 3d was really good, as in it was used well to add depth to the picture, rather than fly out of the screen gimmicks.
It's also a stunning film to see, mixes cartoon, and almost photo realistic CGI

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Knowing (2009), with Nicholas Cage ... saw it in the cinema and thought it was ludicrous. Saw it on TV last night and watched it again in the hope of reappraising it a bit ... but I was right first time, it really is utterly idiotic, and laughable for the fact that it clearly thinks its so high-concept and clever.
