sitecom wl-143

hi all i have just purchased a laptop with vista on an also a sitecom wireless router.
my desktop is running xp.
i have managed to get the wireless internet working but i want to secure it so only i can use t and not my neighbours
i.e it does not ask me for a password yo use it i can just connect straight away.
does any one know how i can do this please.

You need to access the routers Setup page. Instructions should be found with the router (will be something similar to 192.168.2.1 etc). Once in there you should find a page on wireless security and how to set it up

o my days im such an idiot just realised what the password was

i opened my internet then entered http://192.168.1.1
it then poped up a box asking for a user name which is admin an a password which is admin.

but becuse im still such an idiot i canot seem to secure my wireless router
it comes up with the routers settings pages but i dont under stand how i set the security features up.

i can find where it says enable security but then it has option on what type to use could any one pleae give me an idiots guide on how to do this pleeease

o an also if i have my computers on as well as the router and its not secure then can people access my files or do the just hav ethe ability to use my band width.
sorry im not verytech minded
