As Donald Trump told the nation he would protect peaceful protesters in a speech at the White House's Rose Garden on Monday, police officers roughly 100 yards to the north unloaded tear gas, rubber bullets and flash bangs to disperse peaceful protesters by Lafayette Square in Washington, DC, so the president could walk to St John's Episcopal Church for a photo op.

The move by police to clear the president's safe passage to the famed church, executed around the time of DC's citywide 7pm curfew on Monday, enraged Democratic lawmakers and other commentators.

Ok, even more confused. But still not sure what any of your rantings has got to do with a leader firing rubber bullets, attacking reporters and gassing peaceful protesters for a photo opp.

Have you watched the original footage of the person who died whilst being under arrest? I have and there was no resistance whatsoever.

You have, i suspect absolutely 0 practical or first hand relevant knowledge idea about the state of Minnesota or Minneapolis it's population, political make up or nature. I spent a considerable amount of time there with work (and friends) to the point it's almost a 2nd home. and will do so again in the future. Plenty of other cases over the years where people who have resisted and have died as a result. How many examples do you have of where they haven't resisted and have died?

Why not ask the OTHER officers why the continued need to restrain him. As soon as those OTHERS had managed to get him under control, the 3rd guy would've been able to release his hold. Until that point was reached, he had to restrain him in his position. Could've just as easily have been one of the OTHER officers in that position of HAVING to restrain his head. It was just CHANCE that it was the officer it was.
