If Johnson has 100 votes why did he bother meeting Sunak - he wipes the floor with him among the membership?

The rumours were Johnson wanted a Peerage and a high-profile Government role, but agreement couldn’t be reached in yesterday evening’s meeting.

Re: Liz Truss Resigns [Who'll be the next Prime Minister?]
Johnson asked Penny Mordaunt to quit race, sources say
Sources close to Commons leader Penny Mordaunt have told Sky News she has spoken to Boris Johnson and rejected a request to back him.
The former prime minister, Rishi Sunak and Ms Mordaunt are all in the fray to become the country's next prime minister but the prospect of Mr Johnson's return is a polarising issue for many in a divided Conservative Party.
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly endorsed Mr Johnson today, saying he had "learned lessons from his time in Number 10 and would "ensure the focus is on the needs of the country from day one".
However, Mr Sunak continued to extend his lead among MPs, with Sky News analysis now putting his support at 140 declarations.

Re: Liz Truss Resigns [Who'll be the next Prime Minister?]
No idea the bizarre craving for Sunak at all, he’s not the solution, neither is Boris, given the potential recall, thanks to hard incoming sanction from Privilege Committee, we’d be around back at square one. Too many problems, happening to real people, all the while different Tory candidates fight for power.
Let me just leave this here.
Conservatives are tired and worn out and unfit to govern, given the revolving shambles we’ve witnessed. It cannot be Boris & no one else has a sound mandate, in the Tory party, so this needs going back to the people.

Johnson's so called 100 votes is about as truthful as those 40 new hospitals he often talked about..
