Digital TV switchover.

Here is all the news on when your area will be switch from analogue to digital TV: Find you local transmitter for your area.

Anglia TV region will be in 2011.
Sandy Heath - Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire - 2011
Sudbury - parts of Suffolk and Essex - 2011
Tacolneston - Norfolk and north Suffolk - 2011

Border TV region as well as IoM will be in 2009.
Douglas - Isle of Man - from 18 June 2009.
Caldbeck - Cumbria, south west Scotland and the south Lakes - from 24 June 2009.

Central TV region will be in 2011.
Bromsgrove - the Bromsgrove area - 2011
Fenton- Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme- 2011
Lark Stoke - Stratford upon Avon area - 2011
Nottingham - the Nottingham area - 2011
Oxford - Oxfordshire, parts of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire - 2011
Ridge Hill - much of the West Midlands - 2011
Sutton Coldfield - Herefordshire, north Gloucestershire and south Shropshire - 2011
The Wrekin - north Shropshire and south Cheshire - 2011
Waltham - parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and south Nottinghamshire - 2011

Channel Islands will be in November 2010.
Fremont Point - The Channel Islands - Nov 2010

Granada TV region will be in November 2009.
Winter Hill - Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and north Staffordshire. - 4 November 2009

London TV region will be in 2012.
Crystal Palace - Greater London and parts of the Home Counties - 2012

Meridian TV region will be in March 2009 & 2012.
Wednesday 25 March 2009

Due to a reorganisation of the airwaves ahead of switchover in the Meridian TV region (2012) two things will happen on 25 March 2009:
  • Analogue TV viewers in the Southampton, Gosport and Portsmouth areas and parts of the Isle of Wight will need digital TV in order to watch Channel Five.
  • DTT viewers receiving their TV signal from the Rowridge transmitter (viewers in Hampshire, east Dorset, west Sussex and on the Isle of Wight) will need to re-tune their digital equipment

Bluebell Hill - north and mid Kent - 2012
Chillerton Down - the Chillerton Down area- 2012
Dover - south and east Kent - 2012
Hannington - parts of Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey - 2012
Hastings- the Hastings area - 2012
Heathfield - East Sussex - 2012
Margate - the Margate area - 2012
Midhurst - much of West Sussex -2012
Rowridge - Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, parts of Dorset and West Sussex - 2012
Tunbridge Wells - the Tunbridge Wells area - 2012
Whitehawk Hill - the Brighton area - 2012

STV Central region will be in 2010.
Torosay - South west Highlands and Islands - Oct - Dec 2010
Darvel - Parts of central Scotland, Argyll and Bute - Apr - June 2011
Rosneath VP - Rosneath - Apr - Jun 2011
Black Hill - Glasgow, central Scotland and parts of Edinburgh - Apr - Jun 2011

STV North region will be in 2010.

UTV region will be in 2012.
Divis - Belfast and the surrounding area - 2012
Limavady - north west Northern Ireland - 2012

Wales will be in August 2009.
Kilvery Hill - The Swansea area - 12 August 2009
Preseli - south west Wales - 19 August 2000
Camel - Parts of south and central Wales - 26 August 2009
Llanddona - North west Wales - 21 October 2009
Moel-y-Parc - North east Wales - 28 October 2009
Long Mountain - Parts of east and central Wales - 4 November 2009
Blaenplwyf - Parts of west and central Wales - 10 Feb 2010
Wenvoe - Cardiff, Newport and south east Wales- 3 March 2010

West TV region will be in March 2010.
Mendip - Bristol, parts of Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire - 24 March 2010

West Country region will be in April 2009.
Beacon Hill - Torbay and south Devon - 8 April 2009
Stockland Hill -Exeter, parts of Devon, Somerset and Dorset - 6 May 2009
Huntshaw Cross - North Devon - 1 July 2009
Redruth - West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly - 8 July 2009
Cradon Hill - Plymouth, parts of Devon and east Cornwall - 12 August 2009

Yorkshire TV Region will be in 2011.
Belmont - Lincolnshire, parts of Humberside and East Yorkshire - 2011

Note: This is the Terrestrial Digital switchover. Virgin are operating on their own timetable and I believe the plan is to switch off the analogue networks in all cable areas by the end of 2009.
