Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles

VM have changed their bundles and packages yet again, and it's more confusing than ever!

Now they have:

Big Bundle
with Mixit TV + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

with Mixit TV + Entertainment & Drama Pick + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

Bigger Bundle
with Maxit TV + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

Bigger Bundle + Sports
with Maxit TV + Sky Sports + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

Bigger Bundle + Movies
with Maxit TV + Sky Movies + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

Bigger Bundle + Sports & Movies
with Maxit TV + Sky Sports + Sky Movies + M100 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends

Big Oomph Bundle
with Mixit TV + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Big Oomph Bundle + Drama Pick
with Mixit TV + Entertainment & Drama Pick + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Bigger Oomph Bundle
with Maxit TV + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Bigger Oomph Bundle + Sports
with Maxit TV + Sky Sports + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Bigger Oomph Bundle + Movies
with Maxit TV + Sky Movies + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Bigger Oomph Bundle + Sports & Movies
with Maxit TV + Sky Sports + Sky Movies + M200 Fibre Broadband + Talk Weekends + 2GB data SIM

Ultimate Oomph Bundle

Whoever thought up these ridiculous names like Mixit TV, Maxit TV and Big Omph needs to go!

Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles

To try and simplify that a bit.

Player TV is now Mixit TV
The current Full House TV is now Maxit TV.

And there are really three main bundles:

Big bundle = Player bundle.
Bigger bundle = Full House (without Kids channels) bundle
Ultimate Oomph bundle = VVIP

The Big Bundle can have the Personal Picks added (Entertainment & Sport Lite / Entertainment & Lifestyle / Entertainment & Documentaries), along with the Kids Pick.
The Bigger Bundle can have the Kids Pick added if needed.

Both the Big and Bigger bundles can have an 'Oomph' added, which is an increase in the Broadband speed and the SIM added

Both the Big and Bigger bundles can have Premium channels added as usual such as Sky Cinema or Sky Sports.

As before there may be additional pre-built offer bundles that include Sky Sports or Sky Cinema or both.

Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles

When VM started, they simplified things by creating M, L and XL.

Now it seems more complicated than ever!

I sorta understand that, but have not a lot of people always said on here they don't want to be forced to take something they don't want?

So it's either simple tiers of service in bundles that make it so you have something you may not want.

Or, a lot of options to get a range of different TV / BB / Phone options so you can find exactly what you want.

I thought M was daft name for what was basically close to being the Freeview lineup. They should have called it Core, or something like that, and used M for the existing, but not marketed to new customers at VM's launch, Starter (aka M+) which had Pay channels.

Thanks for that simplification BenMcr, much appreciated.

It's a good thing they changed the name of the New Full House (i.e. Minus Kids TV) pack as it was obviously confusing both existing customers looking for a new deal, existing customers worried about their existing TV package, and VM Sales staff who were making new deals on the phone with existing customers and mistakenly selling them new deals and then getting complaints when the customers found they now had no Kids TV Pay channels.

The names of the bundles may be a bit naff, but I like the choice that it gives to customers. I can work out immediately which bundle is for me!

Strange that seeing you are always talking about going totally over to streaming for your entertainment.

Except that the transition hasn't yet taken place. You're getting ahead of yourself, Den.

Re: New Pick 'n' Mix option TV bundles

Seems kinda odd that they're still offering the old Tivo boxes...

As for the plans, it does seem a bit confusing. There seems to be few reasons to 'Pick and Mix' a plan, as nearly all combinations come to more than a standard bundle.

I bet it's the same as mine; Mixit TV + drama (and possibly Entertainment).

Earlier today I tried a bespoke bundle with minimum BB, Phone and TV. This came out as more expensive with half the BB speed!

2GB isnt enough for many people, cant they get a better SIM?

Not now as everything one has to record is only available in HD to record and that soon soaks up the memory.

Though I don't know why the old Tivo box would be an option on these bundles that include broadband, VM need to keep the old Tivos around for those customers that want Cable TV but don't want broadband, as the V6 doesn't have it's own built-in internet connection like the old boxes.
