Re: Connected.. but not working!
Nope the drivers are different for the laptop. How did you not get any CDs? Did Mesh not even give you a restore CD?

Re: Connected.. but not working!
The 'auto-configuration' address you are getting - 169.x.x.x - indicates that the PC is unable to get an IP address from the router. Try manually setting the PC's IP address to something in the same range as the router config page, e.g. if the router config page is accessed as 192.168.2.1, set the PC to 192.168.2.2. You SHOULD then be able to access the routers config page. If you can't, I would suspect either the cable, or the network card in the PC. One thing that does raise a slight alarm bell is the description of the adapter as Cisco Systems VPN adapter. Do you have any VPN software installed?

Think he has more problems than that. Ben did you try a system restore? Really we need to get your drivers sorted but Mesh are making it difficult to do.

Re: Connected.. but not working!
Oh the rest is just as good Ben, can you try a system restore? After that we may have to try and figure out a way around the Mesh login for support situation.

Re: Connected.. but not working!
To go back to the original problem, and my post:-
What is the Cisco Systems VPN Adapter?
The VPN Adapter is a "software-only" driver that provides an interface to solve protocol incompatibility problems. With this installed, more applications are able to run while connected with the VPN client. Removing this adapter from your Network Connections Control Panel may cause the VPN client to stop working properly.
See the Cisco Release Notes for more information on the VPN Adapter.

Re: Connected.. but not working!
Is it still needed? If not look for it in control panel, add/remove programs and remove it.
