Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Not strictly SF, but is based on Frank Miller's "300" about the Spartans, so tenuous link :-)
Trailer looks amazing

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Some recent news from the US ; - Blade has been cancelled after one season.
- Eureka has been picked up for a second season.
- Heroes has been confirmed for a full first season.
- Kidnapped has been cancelled after 13 episodes.
Vanished is only doing moderately well, while Jericho has got off to a good start (both are good btw). The second series of the Unit is doing well, while another good newbie, Justice, doesn't seem to be doing fantastically in the ratings.
In all, there are plenty of good shows on in the US atm - and most of them will be over here at some point.

Yes, it's quite entertaining, and also one of the Sci-Fi channels most successful programmes atm, there was no doubt it was going to get picked up. The second season will be another 13 episodes (like the first season).

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
It's been confirmed that Stargate SG1 will continue with two direct-to-DVD movies after the 10th & final season has ended. They may also air on TV.
The first will tie-up the Ori story, & other loose ends from season 10.

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
So Newline don't want Peter Jackson to do The Hobbit. Personally I think this is a shame, although it does look like it will get made by a different person (and a prequel between the hobbit and fellowship)

I see they've finally given Harry acting lessons, although he seems shorter than I remember...

Just hope they follow the books a bit more. The films are way to sanitised.

Battlestar Galactica's 3rd season is on a 1 month Christmas / New Year break, after tonight's State-side airing of season 3 episode 11 "The Eye of Jupiter".

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Has anybody been watching heroes? Its apparently starting on sky in the new year some time?
When I first heard the premise I was expecting another mutant X but this seems to be so much more. Will post a linky if someone doesnt beat me to it after I get back from work.
