Re: Tribes of Europa

Eastern Europe is frequently used for locations now, especially when great expanses of wilderness are required. There are big forests, open, rolling grasslands and nowhere near as many vapour trails to paint out. You’re also spoiled for choice if you want brutalist, totalitarian architecture thanks to the post-WW2 Soviet occupation, or a village that looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 18th century (as many of them haven’t been).

Plus, labour is cheap, so you can crew an entire location unit for a fraction of the cost of doing it anywhere in Western Europe or North America.

Re: Tribes of Europa

Just watched part 2. So far so good, and probably a third of the dialogue was in English anyway.

I liked the Crimson Circle base. Apparently it’s a world war 2 monument in Croatia that was damaged by Serbian forces in the war in the 1990s. Very atmospheric.
