Re: E Mail Problem
The email page has been a bit flaky recently. Sometimes it goes straight in, other times it asks for email and password then fails to open the page, saying it has "timed out".

Not necessarily a good test due to the vagaries of VM email. I find it varies for different users, depending on email address and original cable co. For example, my mum has a virginmedia.com address but dad uses their original ntlworld.com address - often if one has a problem the other still works.

This i agree with, i always thought when Virgin years ago switched to using Gmail instead of their own servers this was the reason why.

They don't use Gmail any longer, they haven't for 4-5 years.
It's always best to avoid using an ISP email and stick with someone like Gmail and Outlook to avoid problems as they get resolved quicker and make it easier to switch ISP without the hassle of moving email.

I've just started getting 20 plus spam a day on 1 of my Gmail accounts but luckily they go to the spam folder, I don't think I can do anything to even stop them going into spam, so annoying.

Mine is an NTL address, I have never had a problem before. my Virgin webpage is fine. Someone said it might be to do with cookies or cache .

Same here, although I periodically check the webmail spam folder as it's a little bit too enthusiastic sometimes.
