There were a few from other vendors than arris that officially offered link bonding though.
Shame VM in the UK don't just let you use your own kit like most US networks.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
Depends whether your vpn is tied to your ip address. New shub = different mac addresses = different ip addresses.

Pfft, that's nothing, I have previously cancelled my VM sub, the next day, put the new modem in for the new VM account in my wife's name (we used to flip it between us annually for the new customer offers), and kept the same public IP assigned to my router (both modems in modem mode, so the WAN MAC stayed the same).
So literally new account, in a different person's name, using a different superhub, retained the IP.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
When in modem mode it goes off the Mac of the wan interface on whatever router you're using, not the virgin modem, so if you were using the same kit behind it, that would explain how you kept the same IP

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
Well I got an email today to say they are working on the local network.
Quote:
We’re carrying out essential works to modernise and future-proof our network in your area on Wed 25 Aug.
This should improve your connection so you can carry on enjoying the things you love most.
Your services might be affected for a little while on the day, but we should have you back up and running again at around 6pm.
|
So maybe 1G is on its way.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
That is what I got. I am Monday. Can you let me know when they enable it for your area because Lincoln usually follows very soon after Nottingham.

Woking usually follows within 50 years of Lincoln, so can you let me know when you get it?

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
A friend has just received a SH4 in Weston Super Mare, and is showing a d3.1 OFDM channel in the bond, along with 31 (should be 32 I'd think?) d3.0 channels.
Still no Gig1 availability, perhaps not enough backhaul?

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
At least we are not in limbo with a 2 year rollout schedule and know we are going to get before Christmas.
