"Domestic Terrorist" planning killing spree in USA arrested
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-47313724
Quote:
A US Coast Guard officer has been arrested on suspicion of planning a terror attack, court documents show.
Police found a cache of weapons and ammunition at the Maryland home of Christopher Paul
The self-proclaimed white nationalist had drawn up a list of targets including prominent Democratic politicians, according to prosecutors.
He is said to have drawn inspiration from the Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik.
"The defendant intends to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country," US District Attorney Robert Hur said in the court documents, requesting that he be held in detention pending trial.
What has he been accused of?
Mr Hasson is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and controlled substances, but prosecutors say these "current charges, however, are the proverbial tip of the iceberg".
"The defendant is a domestic terrorist, bent on committing acts dangerous to human life that are intended to affect governmental conduct."

Re: "Domestic Terrorist" planning killing spree in USA arrested
The entire world will be more at risk of "domestic" terrorists if they are are allowed to return to the countries of their birth after being part of daesh.
Why would any country allow potentially thousands of Fifth Columnists to openly infiltrate?

I don’t believe he was a ever a member of Daesh (he was a US Marine for 5 years, then in the Army National Guard, and joined the US Coastguard, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security).
Amusingly (imho) his lawyer stated
Quote:
"There is nothing I'm seeing in here that would show he was stockpiling weapons"

There were 15 firearms and 1000 round of ammo found in his apartment.

His lawyer obviously needs to look up the definition of "stockpiling weapons" as that is a clear "stockpiling of weapons".

Frankly that says more about American culture in general than it does about his lawyer. We used to have an American member of this very forum whose own gun collection wouldn’t have been shamed by that picture.
