All-in-One Computers
I have an old computer computer comprising a huge box sat on the base of my cabinet.
It has two USB sockets at the front and three connectors at the rear. It also has a disc aperture for CD's and another for floppy discs.
Where are these on an All-in-One ? I cannot see where they can be from the photo ?
My intended new computer is this -
HP 21.5 Inch Celeron 4GB 2TB All-in-One Desktop PC.
Interfaces and connectivity:-
3-in-1 media card reader.
2 x USB 2.0 ports.
2 x USB 3.0 ports.
Ethernet port.
1 HDMI port.
Bluetooth.
Wireless/Wi-Fi enabled.

Re: All-in-One Computers
it won't have a floppy drive
quite a lot of PCs don't come with a cd/dvd drive these days, you can buy cheap external usb ones.
Or, it may be on the side of the display.
if it's not listed in the spec, I guess it doesn't have one
many ppl download software these days, install OS from USB stick/memory card, there's less need for optical drive, so it saves them money by not having one

Re: All-in-One Computers
If it's like this one from Argus, the USB ports are on the back, and the DVD writer is in the side (one of the small pictures at the left of the main pic)

Re: All-in-One Computers
it will be preinstalled
you'll need to have a usb stick, 8gb or larger I think so that you can create a repair/rescue "disc"
their may be a rescue partition in case of OS going wrong, but that's nto much good if it's the hard drive that dies.
so you create a rescue image onto a usb stick, so that if you do need to recover from catastrophic failure, virus, want to reinstall windows etc, you can

After buying a second hand computer of dubious make from a friend 13 years ago for a few quid and it operating impeccably for all that time and still is, an HP Celeron will be like entering paradise to me. Can't wait.
My PC needs are extremely basic with no blockbusting high-tech indulgences to raise my blood pressure or give me an adrenaline rush. Just a common surfer and nothing else.

Re: All-in-One Computers
I'd really recommend swapping the storage for a better processor.
For an extra £40 you can get the same PC with 1TB and a Core i3 chip:
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/comput...84766-pdt.html
That'll be so much better for everything and will make the PC last longer.

Re: All-in-One Computers
The write up for an all-in-one says that it can be used straight from the box when given a power supply.
Windows must be already fully loaded and operational ? How is then the wireless network authorised ?
It is exactly the same as a laptop.
