Are Robot vacuum cleaners any good?
Anyone here have a robot vacuum cleaner and can comment on if they are any good?
I'm considering one as my children are always making crumbs and bits everywhere. I wondered what people thought of these devices?
Thankyou.

The good ones are. I saw one on Linus Tech Tips that had a dock that enabled the vac to empty itself of solids and liquids and recharged itself also
as with all tech though you get what you pay for

My son has one and it has an atitude problem. It seems to dislike his cats and it's the only thing that gives them both hissy fits. I swear they shovel out the cat litter from their tray just to pay it back.

Re: Are Robot vacuum cleaners any good?
I can't imagine a Robo being able to navigate my house, I find a Dyson V10 Absolute cordless super easy and quick to use.

Not a vacuum, but we have an iRobot mop and have given up using it. It takes an hour to do a job you can do better yourself in 5 minutes.

Unless you have wooden floors, lino or very short pile carpet, they are rubbish and a waste of electricity. I was asked to look at two that "don't seem to pick anything up".
This short film gives the reasons why they fail to do their job.

Re: Are Robot vacuum cleaners any good?
Thanks everyone. I have mostly tiled floor downstairs but lots of furniture I have a feeling will cause it to get stuck on.
I may give it a miss for the moment then and put the money towards holidays instead.

Re: Are Robot vacuum cleaners any good?
I have a Eufy X8 Hybrid. I used it for daily cleans of the kitchen, downstairs cloakroom & the hall (which are all tiled) does a good job, navigates around the dogs. the IQ boost feature which adjusts suction is decent.
We have deep pile carpet in the living room, dining room & snug, it does OK but leaves track marks which can be annoying.
When i need want to give the carpets a proper clean the SEBO comes out.

Consider a Dyson cordless my V10 absolute made hoovering a breeze and I can do the whole house in 20mins with no effort, I bought it refurbished from their eBay outlet and it looked new, even better when you can get a extra 20% off.

I'm glad you asked this question. I'm looking at ways to cut down the hours of my cleaner and was considering this as an option.
The installation of a dishwasher was a good investment. Now if only they would invent something that does the ironing
