V6 box has no internet connection

We have two V6 set top boxes in our household and the primary one is working fine with no problems at all with the network connection as it updated at 6.52 this morning but no matter what we do with the second box its just not connecting at all.

We have done all the usual tests as one would but it is still to no avail as there is still no network connection on the second box.

Any help would be welcome.

Re: V6 box has no internet connection

Is it total loss of TV or just the network Den?

Guess you've tried this, switching it on and off again and reconnecting to WiFi if it isn't hardwired. Mine occasionally drops connection and that fixes it.

The TV picture is fine on both V6 boxes , The broadband is working fine on the PC and the WiFi is fine on the laptop and we have switched the router and box off several times so far but to no avail. on and off several times.

We checked the primary box just now and that is fine but its the second box where it say there is no network connection and there has not been one since early last night.

Re: V6 box has no internet connection

Have you rebooted the V6 box? i.e. disconnected from mains for a minute. Is it networked via WiFi or ethernet cable?

We have rebooted the V6 box several times and disconnected from the mains.

The primary box is connected via ethernet cable as l am sure the second box goes through a WiFi connection.

If you've got separate 2Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi options use the 5g. (or if you were using 5g without success, try 2g).
Otherwise you'll have to wait for an expert to come along ! Good luck.

No need to get that desperate Den ! I am sure there are people on here more expert. Plus they'll just blame your WiFi and tell you to connect via ethernet/home plugs.

Re: V6 box has no internet connection

Good news, see how it goes if it's anything like mine it will drop occasionally and you'll have to reboot the box. It's weird, as it not just my WiFi it drops, it's all ability to recognise any WiFi networks, including neighbours.

Touch wood, it's been rock solid for a couple of months. Ever since I had to change the WiFi channels my 5g was broadcasting on so my Amazon Fire stick would recognise 5g. Although that maybe coincidence and I've just been lucky lately!

The connection can get a bit flakey sometimes l have noticed and when that happens we do reboot the box and it sorts itself out generally.

That's a known fault, but there's no permanent fix at the moment. You might be able to stop it happening by disabling power-saving.

Though it doesn't appear to be den's issue, as a power cycle would have resolved it immediately.
