Video Card Question

Since im becoming a bit more of a gamer now i wish to upgrade my Nvidia 1080 to a Nvidia 2070 Super.

This is the card ive picked out so far......
https://www.ebuyer.com/912461-gigaby...sgaming-oc-8gd

Can anyone else suggest a 2070 Super of their own choice i dont want to spend more than £500 unless its gonna be a massive improvement over what ive picked out.

Thanks

Re: Video Card Question

Beware of underpowered power supplies. I have seen many have to buy bigger PSUs to be able to power modern graphics cards. And some didn't even have the PCIe leads that are critical.

Check the MINIMUM specs for the games you like, then aim to be get something more powerful.

Re: Video Card Question

Does anyone else get the feeling that 'gaming on computers' is ever increasingly becoming a money sink where players need to spend spend spend in order to compete?

I like to game, but for ages now the emails I receive from various component suppliers have been in reality turning my attention towards a PS4 - which doesn't need a new Mobo, CPU, GFX Card and Memory to play the latest games.

Going console would also allow me to ditch Windows and go full Linux too, which is a nice bonus

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum has the best games and that had 48k of memory...
Still haven't finished 'Manic Miner', started it in 1983... Maybe I'll progress to the sequel 'Jet Set Willy' one day...
