Transfer to pc via avermedia 2

Hi guys,

Was hoping one of you might be able to help with an issue that has started happening when trying to copy from my Virginmedia v6 box to an Avermedia 2 Plus recorder. Not something I do often but I do like to save off certain sporting event highlights even though there aren't any at the moment 😢

Whenever the Avermedia is plugged into the splitter the tv screen goes blank & the Avermedia will not record. I also have to turn off/on the V6 to get it working again. I’m assuming it is HDCP protection getting in the way but it was working about 6 months ago when I last tried this.

Setup
Virginmedia v6 to HDMI 1 in/2 out Splitter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/iSolem-Swit...er&tag=av0c-21)

Splitter connects to my Panasonic TV (https://www.panasonic.com/uk/consume...-43gx550b.html) and
Avermedia 2 Plus recorder (https://www.avermedia.com/product-detail/GC513).

Any help gratefully received as it is really annoying me.

Thanks,

Stick

Re: Transfer to pc via avermedia 2

Well I believe technically it's illegal to use a device which removes/strips HDCP from a signal allowing it to be recorded, so as to helping you to record footage you are not meant to record on to a pc etc, I don't think anyone can legally help with that.

The reason for the black screen could be that the HDCP Standard could have been updated since you last tried it, and the boxes could have been updated to meet that standard meaning if you connect a box to a none HDCP Compliant display then you won't get a image.
