Haven : Season 1
A new SyFy show premieres on July 9th starring Emily Rose (ER, Jericho) and looks promising

A shrewd FBI agent with a lost past who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine, to solve the murder of a local ex-con only to discover that the curious enclave is a longtime refuge for people with supernatural powers that holds a lot of secrets, including to her own past
Episode 1.01 - "Welcome to Haven"
When FBI Agent Audrey Parker (Rose) is called to Haven, Maine, on a routine case, she finds her assignment has been killed in an unexplainable fashion. As the weather events grow more destructive, Audrey discovers that someone in town might be more connected to the incidents than she could possibly imagine.

Re: Haven : Season 1
This is paired with Eureka for Friday nights. I assume Syfy is hoping that Eureka will give this a decent lead in.
Sounds interesting, anyway

Currently watching this. It seems strange watching Elena Fisher in a TV show. I recognised the voice, so had to look it up.

Re: Haven : Season 1
Watched Ep 1 tonight, and yeah, good start. Nice twist as to who was controlling the weather. I'll be back for more next week.

Re: Haven : Season 1
I wasn't greatly impressed...especially as I watched it straight after Eureka. It was a bit X-filesey. The male lead police man has a secret...and it intrigues me. Also...it was a surprise that her boss sent her there on the police chief's(I think?) orders.
Overall...not a great start for me, but I will carry on watching as I think it might get better further in.

Re: Haven : Season 1
Yup, I'm still enjoying it. Bit lightweight, but good enough. Looking forward to more (hopefully) being revealed about the "Troubles".

Would it be worth reading the book?
